Chief Excitement Officer of Young Enterprise Trust (New Zealand)
Terry Shubkin is the Chief Excitement Officer of Young Enterprise Trust, a not for profit that has been running for 36 years whose purpose is to help young people to thrive in business and in life.
They are most well known for their flagship programme, The Lion Foundation Young Enteprise Scheme (YES) where senior secondary students get to experience first hand what it’s like to run their own business. What many people do not realise is that their programmes start in Year 1 and staircase through to Year 13, or that there is a charity behind the scenes making it all happen.
Ms Shubkin is passionate that the young people of today are the future of New Zealand and the world, and it is our role to encourage them to see business and entrepreneurship as a way not just to make money, but to make a difference. By encouraging students to think of all aspects of sustainability including social, environmental and cultural sustainability, we have the potential to create entrepreneurs that will change the world.
