Head of the Business Development at Impact Investment Exchange Asia (IIX) (Singapore)
Natasha Garcha is the head of the Business Development at IIX with a focus on Capital Markets and Data Analytics. In this capacity, key projects that Natasha has spearheaded include developing the Women’s Livelihood Bond - the world’s first impact investment instrument to be listed on a stock exchange, the Social Finance Roadmap 2016-2020 for the Malaysian government, and the IIX-N-Peace Innovation Challenge for the United Nations Development Program.
Natasha is also the Founder of the Shades of Happiness Foundation (SoHF), a non-profit headquartered in India with the mission to empower under-privileged children in India through access to quality education. To date, SoHF has impacted the lives of +10,000 children in New Delhi and Hyderabad and has successfully partnered with +20 corporate through strategic CSR initiatives.
Natasha entered the impact investing world after a career in finance with D.E. Shaw & Co., a New York-based hedge fund. During her tenure at D.E. Shaw, Natasha worked with two teams, Investor Relations and Trade Accounting & Operations. As a part of Investor Relations she managed +500 client accounts from across the United States and Europe. As a part of Trade Accounting & Operations, Natasha worked on both fixed income securities and the global convertible arbitrage strategy for the flagship fund, D.E. Shaw Oculus Portfolio LLC. Additionally, Natasha served as the co-head of the company’s CSR department in Asia, supporting a range of social and environmental NGOs and Social Enterprises with access to skills through employee engagement initiatives and funding through strategic philanthropy.
Natasha holds an M.B.A from the University of Oxford where she merited a spot on the Dean’s List and chaired the Social Impact Oxford Business Network, winning a BNY-Mellon award for her efforts. Natasha also holds a Masters in Business Law from National Law School, Bangalore and an undergraduate degree in Commerce, Finance and Economics from Delhi University.
