Social Enterprise Policy Manager at the Scottish Government (Scotland)
Laura has worked for the Scottish Government for eleven years, the last two years of which have been in the Third Sector Unit, working on social enterprise policy. In that time she has immersed herself in the sector and is inspired on a daily basis by the social entrepreneurs she has met and the potential of social enterprise to deliver positive change across Scotland.
In 2016 she led on the development of Scotland’s ten year national strategy for social enterprise, co-produced with Scotland’s social enterprise community. Laura is involved in supporting many aspects of Scotland’s social enterprise ecosystem and manages the “Just Enterprise” contract which provides business support for social enterprises in Scotland. She has an interest in the third sector’s involvement in procurement and public service reform and has responsibility for policy on Public Social Partnerships.
